Chloe Kim – Fashion Print, Central Saint Martins 2012

We stumbled upon CSM protégée Chloe Kim and couldn’t possibly not share her stunning work. As we thought her creations looked incredibly technical and laborious, we had to ask how she gave birth the incredible, almost sculptural dresses.

Inspired by forestal sceneries, Chloe imagined a girl living growing in symbiosis with the trees and flowers. In order to depict the texture and the shape of the trees, she made use of distressed and shredded lace and tulles which she hand-shredded and dyed afterwards. As her course was based on print textile, she screen printed her own designs onto the fabric (impressive!!). Finally, she completed the garments with hand-crafted embroidery which you can find on some of the looks throughout the collection.

This, is genius. We have no doubt you’ll hear a lot more about Chloe Kim, very soon.
